Rothie Cabin: A COP26 Legacy
Originally built for the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow, the cabin was created to showcase zero-carbon, circular building solutions.
Following the summit, the structure was carefully dismantled, transported, and reassembled within the ancient Caledonian forest of Rothiemurchus Estate. Today, it stands as a living example of how climate-conscious design can meet comfort, style, and connection to nature.
Named, Rothie Cabin, it offers guests a peaceful, self-catering stay surrounded by towering Scots pines and panoramic views of the Cairngorm mountains.
The cabin features a king-sized bed, a walk-in shower, and a fully equipped kitchenette, all within a minimalist, light-filled space that invites guests to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.
The cabin’s sustainable ethos runs deep. From its low-impact materials, eco products and recycled glassware, to its dog-friendly garden and firepit, every detail encourages thoughtful living and immersive experiences. Guests can explore nearby walking and cycling trails, visit wildlife hides, or simply relax and stargaze from the mezzanine.
