The Forge
Nestled in the historic heart of Totnes, The Forge Therapy Centre is a striking example of how architecture can nurture wellbeing. The centre transforms the site of the town’s original blacksmiths’ forge into a contemporary retreat for mind and body.
The building houses three state-of-the-art floatation therapy rooms, a sanctuary-style yoga hall, and treatment spaces for complementary therapies.
Every detail has been guided by trauma-informed design principles, ensuring the environment feels restorative rather than clinical.
Instead of harsh lighting or sterile finishes, the interiors are bathed in earthy tones, natural materials, dimmable lighting, and fresh botanicals.
This approach creates a space that is both welcoming and deeply soothing, supporting therapies such as yoga, reiki, and floatation.
Clients experience not only the benefits of the treatments themselves but also the healing atmosphere of the architecture.
The Forge represents our commitment to designing buildings that resonate emotionally as well as functionally. It is a place where craftsmanship, sustainability, and sensitivity to human experience come together - an architectural expression of care, resilience, and sanctuary.
